Mike FisherMike is a counsellor, sensorimotor psychotherapist, supervisor, trainer and freelance consultant. He is the Executive Director of the Willows Counselling Service in Swindon. His background is in personal Social Services where he has had experience as a Social Worker in both residential and fieldwork settings, as well as working in community development, planning and management. Mike works with survivors of sexual and ritual abuse who have DID. He is Chairman of TAG, a Fellow of the Association of Christian Counsellors, Vice Chair of the UK and Ireland Association of Sensorimotor Psychotherapists and a member of both the European and International Societies for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ESTD and ISSTD). He is married with a grown up family and enjoys birdwatching in his spare time. Peter VesseyAfter 30 years of Parish Ministry in the Church of England Peter and his wife Uta retrained as Counsellors and practiced privately in Cromford, Derbyshire. Whilst technically retired, both still give time to survivors of childhood traumatisation and abuse, with special attention to dissociative issues and D.I.D. They are sometimes able to offer short-term residential facilities if distance from home requires it. David WoodhouseDavid retired after 37 years in Church of England parish and chaplaincy work. He obtained accreditation as an Advanced Counsellor and Supervisor with the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) in the early 1990s working mainly with those suffering from PTSD and DID problems arising from sexual and ritual abuse. In his last parish he established a pastoral counselling team and was a member of the ACC Accreditation Committee for seven years. He completed four years of M. Phil. research with the University of Birmingham on the subject of 'The Spiritual Dimension in Counselling the Sexually Abused' before ill health forced him to withdraw. Following discussions at the first ACC National Conference, he convened The Dissociative Identity Disorder Working Group of interested counsellors and clinicians to write a report titled 'Working with Dissociative Disorders', which was submitted to the ACC Board at their request in January 1999. It was from this DID Group that TAG was formed. He was also a member of the Theology and Counselling Panel to support the Bishop of Worcester’s Diocesan Child Protection Officer and latterly was Chaplain to Acorn Christian Healing Foundation and licensed to the Bishop of Guildford as a Diocesan Healing Advisor. David has been married to Bridget for over 40 years and they have three adult children and a granddaughter. His interests include gardening, model railways and music. Richard ColeRichard trained as a psychiatric social worker, psychotherapist and family therapist. He has extensive experience in practice and management within health and social service organisations. He acts as a consultant on child protection issues and lectures in mental health and social work. As a counsellor he specialises in working with people who have experienced severe trauma, sexual and ritual abuse. Jane PottsJane is a Psychiatrist who has worked for the N.H.S. in a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and a Postnatal Depression Clinic. She has a special interest in trauma and abuse, post traumatic stress disorder and dissociative disorders. She is an accredited E.M.D.R. Practitioner (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). Jane is a facilitator for Group Therapy with Deep Release Ministries. She is currently studying for an M.A. in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy. Jane is on the pastoral team for Spring Harvest and is involved with the Shalom Christian Healing Centre in the diocese of Willesden. She is married with two grown up children. Ruth CuretonRuth qualified as a doctor in 1981 and went on to work as an NHS General Practitioner for over 20 years. She also trained as a counsellor, accredited with the ACC, helping to establish and supervise a Pastoral Care Team over a number of years. Ruth now works part-time as the Development Manager for Willows Counselling Service in Swindon, is Membership Secretary for TAG and has some involvement with pastoral and child protection work at her local church. |
